Outis Privacy Policy
Abstract
Outis (the "App") collects no personal data. It has no internet access, so nothing you do in the App can be sent to us or to anyone else. This document explains what the App reads on your device, why, and what happens to it.
Status of This Memo
This document is effective as of 6 October 2026 and replaces any earlier version. The current version is always published at this address. See also the Terms of Use.

1. Summary
- The App has no internet access. It does not request the network permission, and its build is checked to make sure that permission is never added.
- No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, no tracking.
- Your photos are processed only on your device and never leave it unless you share them yourself.
2. Data We Collect
None. We do not collect, store, transmit, sell or share any personal or usage data. We have no servers that could receive it.
3. What the App Reads on Your Device
To do its job, the App reads only the photos you choose, either by picking them in the App or by sharing them into the App from another app. For each photo it reads the hidden metadata, which can include:
- location (GPS coordinates and altitude);
- device details (phone make and model, serial numbers, software);
- dates and times;
- embedded thumbnails, motion-photo video and other embedded data.
This information is shown to you on screen so you can see what the photo carries, and is then left out of the clean copy. It is held in memory only while you use the App and is never saved, logged or sent anywhere.
4. Permissions
ACCESS_MEDIA_LOCATION (optional). Android removes the location from photos before giving them to an app unless the app holds this permission. The App asks for it only so it can show you a photo's real location before removing it. If you decline, the App still works; it may simply be unable to show the location.
The App requests no internet, network, storage, camera, microphone or contacts permission.
5. Files the App Creates
The App writes a new, cleaned copy of each photo with a random file name. Your original photo is never changed or deleted.
- Working copies are kept in the App's private storage and are deleted when you start a new session or the next time the App starts.
- If you choose Save, the clean copy is saved to your device's Pictures/Outis folder, where it stays until you delete it.
- The App's data is excluded from device backups.
6. Sharing
When you choose Share, the clean copy is handed to the app you pick through Android's share sheet. What that app does with it is governed by its own privacy policy, not this one.
7. Third Parties
The App contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code. Because it cannot connect to the internet, no third party can receive data from it.
8. Children
The App collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
9. Your Choices
You can deny or revoke the location permission in your device settings at any time. You can delete saved clean copies from Pictures/Outis. Uninstalling the App removes all of its private data.
10. Changes to This Policy
We MAY update this policy. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this document. The App's core promise of no internet access will not change.
